I'm doing some checking on the location of Siegen and Truppbach (Trupbach)
because I do not remember it being as was stated by D. Ross. I was there in
1996, saw the castle (on of two, actually). Apparently there were two
brothers---one a Catholic and one a Lutheran--according to the museum in the
Oberschloss (upper-Castle).
Siegen is nearly directly east of Koln (Cologne). It is NW of Frankfurt.
Trupbach is NW of downtown Siegen. Oberfischbach (upper-Fischbach),
incidentally, is just west (and a bit south) of Siegen (where the castle is).
There is also a Niederfischbach (lower-Fischbach) just SW of (1km or so) of
Oberfischbach.
My husband and I sat in our car a watched a soccer game in Trupbach--kids
about 12 or so. Trupbach has maybe 50 homes in the old section and is
probably much like it has been for ages. A beautiful place!
