Okay, after the 4th time of seeing this, I've got to say something.
Guys, if you like this so much, go look in some old record stores and you'll
probably find it. The title is "The Americans (A Canadian's Opinion)" by
Gordon Sinclair, and it charted at #24 on Billboard in 1974. (Maybe it's on
one of those CD anthologies.)
At the time, it was nice to hear someone speak well of the US -- since this
was just at the end of the Vietnam war and even our own people didn't
necessarily like what we'd been doing as a country. Today, we seem to have
world press on a fairly high level: not as good as during WWII, but surely
not as bad a during Vietnam.
Still, this is REALLY old news -- as is most of the stuff that flies thru the
internet like snow. Maybe it would be better to stand up for the US in
private e-mail rather than taking a stand on RootsWeb.
