I know in 1984 I as a registrar, I required documentation for every date
until I reached someone in the DAR. Of course if they had faulty info then
another person does too. Thats what I am afraid of with the computer, when I
would correspond with someone I would say, Where did that info come from", I
question thats being done today. But as an example something they did take
which surprised me. I wanted to get my furthest known RECTOR in DAR records
so I used his daughters father in law, Millitan Atkinson to accomplish that I
had a sketchy birthdate and deathdate but had French and Indian War records,
Revolution War Records and a very unusual first name, I also concluded that
we knew he was born and died but we should recognize him for his Service to
