Dear Listers,

I am new to the list. I have searched your archives for my family, but have
not found any new leads. I am now posting in hopes someone might know of my
Ggrandfather's family.

My Ggrandfather George Carpenter was born 1825, possibly in Lynchburg VA.
His parents were James and Susan Carpenter. At some point he married a Miss
Legg and had a daughter Emma in 1863. Miss Legg died. George then married
Esther Virginia Coffman, daughter of David and Rebecca Coffman. They
married 1869 in Greenbrier WV, and in 1879 moved to KS.

I am hoping to find more about George's parents and siblings. If you know
of any leads I might look into, please reply to this list or contact me at
