Subject: [GERMANNA] Nantze family

My GG-Grandfather, John Nantze, was on a wagon train that left Mecklenburg,
NC, in 1840, heading for Arkansas. Prior to that date I have a gap until
1797, where I find Henry Nantze's christening record from the St. Paul
Protestant Episcopal Church, in Baltimore, MD. From there on back, there is
a huge gap until 1683, where I find an Andreas Nantze's birth record in
Schonau, Lobau, Sachsen, Germany. I need help in closing these gap's, and
any
information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi!
Sorry I am just now catching up on some of the old messages from this list!
but I may have stumbled on something for you
Had you found: John Nantz in the AR Land Records from the Harrison land
office,
Doc # 294 Total acres: 40 signature: Yes Issue
Date 03 Dec 1878
I'm not sure I copied this accurately---Sec 1 Twsp
20N Rge 29W
Sale-Cash Entries
also, there is: Nantz, John m. Asher, Mary 12 Jul 1877 Clay Co., KY
This had particularly caught my eye as my Moore, Pentecost and Harrison
families had traveled somewhat this route. Moore coming from NC to KY,
Pentecost from IL to KY, and possibly Harrison from VA/MD to KY.
There also seemed to be bits and pieces of census data available for John
Nantz with no middle initial and then with T. & P. (I think) If I have
remembered correctly KY and IL and TX had a number of John Nantz you may want
to check out. I found all of this on Ancestry.com but I'm sure you can access
the land documents through the BLM website.
I hope this might be your family!
