Hi List,

I have uploaded a photo of Ellen HUFFMAN. Ellen is the daughter of Julianna
BLANKENBAKER and John HUFFMAN (John is the son of Sampson HUFFMAN). She was
born 19 Apr 1824, died 19 Mar 1896, and was married 24 Feb 1847 to Arnold
NETHERS. Arnold was the son of John Lewis Godfrey NETHERS, Jr. ("Nethers"
was derived from "NEUTRE" and John, Jr.'s father is said to have come form
Germany). The photo includes Arnold, Reginald HUDSON, the son of Ellen and
Arnold, James W. "Jimmy" NETHERS, and an unidentified friend. Arnold NETHERS
served in the Civil War (Co. G 12th Virginia Cavalry). A daughter of Ellen
and Arnold's, Savilla, married James William BOWEN in Culpeper Co. and they
loved in Brandy Station. I have a picture of James and Savilla on my site as
well.

The little hamlet of NETHERS is at the foot fo the Old Ragged Mountain, near
Criglarsville, not very far from where the counties of Culpeper, Madison,
and Rappahannock converge.It was the local voting precint as well as a
popular mill. I visited the old mill there in the summer of 2000 on a
beautiful late June day.


If you click on my FTM link, below under my name in my signature block, then
scroll down to the 11th photo, that will be Ellen and arnold, etc. James and
Savilla are before them. I have a photo of a Frank HUFFMAN, as well, but am
not certain that this is a sibling of Ellen's or not...Lastly, I also have a
picture of one of the newest Germanna descendants, my new little
granddaughter, Trinity Jane Stanford, born 8 days ago....

BTW, the photo is "sideways" as I didn't scan it, but received it as an
attached file. I simply can't get my scan system to turn it upright because
it won't recognize it. Sorry.
