Can anyone tell me about my gg-
grandfather, ABRAHAM BEAUREGARD
KOPPAL, born in Germany, near
Hamburg, Feb. 22, 1822?

Our first known facts came when
he applied & was given his citizen-
ship, in May 1855, in Charlotte Co., Va. He married my gg-grand-
mother, Prudence Newcomb, on Oct.
30, 1844.

But no actual record of his arrival
in America has been found. His
citizenship acceptance in Charlotte
Court House Records, states that he
was a native of Germany, near Hamburg. He was given his citizen-
ship on May 7, 1855.

We would appreciate anything anyone
could offer us about the surname,
KOPPAL, or about ships arriving in
America, from Germany, before 1840.
