Let me take a stab at identifying these people. I am not as shy as some in
making public gaffes:

>
> 1815 Virginia Landowners Directory
> Madison County, Virginia
>
> YAGER, Adam, decd*
This is (was) probably Adam3 (Adam2, Nicholas1) who died in 1813.

> YAGER, Benjamin=4E
Probably son of Nicholas Yager (Adam2, Nicholas1) & wife Susannah Wilhoit.
Benjamin Yager m. Anna Crisler in 1790.

> YAGER, Daniel=2E
Son of John3 Yager (Adam2, Nicholas1) & Susannah Wilhoit (John "Blind John"
and perhaps the same as "Piney Woods" John). Daniel Yager married Susannah
Berry, daughter of Michael S. Berry & Lucy Gibbs, in 1806.

> YAGER, Godfrey=2NW
This is Godfrey3 Yager (Adam2, Nicholas1). This one seems pretty clear. He
died in Madison County in 1819. I am dubious about assigning him a wife.

> YAGER, Jeremiah, heirs*
Probably the son of Adam3 Yager, and the Jeremiah Yager who died in 1806,
though his father's will of 1812 refers to him as a living person but then
omits his name from his list of "seven sons" who are to be executors. This
needs work.

> YAGER, Joel=6E
Two possibilities here.

1. Joel4 Yager b. ca 1779 (Adam3, Adam2, Nicholas1) who m. Frances Tinsley
in 1800
2. Joel5 Yager b. 1786 (Elisha4, Adam3, Adam2, Nicholas1)

I opt toward option 1, as #2 Joel Yager is said to have married in Nelson
Co., Kentucky in 1813.

> YAGER, John A; White Oak Run, Big Dark Run, Blue Ridge, courthouse; 1NW, 3E,
> 20N, 5S.

This one is clearly John Adam Yager (Adam3, Adam2, Nicholas1), husband of
Anna Carpenter). It is hard to imagine any land 20 miles north of Madison
Court House still being in Madison County. But the land of Dark Run is more
conclusive, which looks to be 3 miles east of the courthouse.

************The four John Yager's below present a problem***********
> YAGER, John W=10N
See notes under John Sr. last on this list of Johns.
________
> YAGER, John, Junior, P W=9S
> YAGER, John, Senior, P W=10S

These two are probably father and son. John SENIOR may well be John3
(Adam2, Nicholas1), husband of Mary Wilhoit, who is also called "Blind
John" in the Germanna Record No. 10, and who is clearly NOT John Yager son
of Michael as reported in Germanna Record No. 10

John JUNIOR, probably his son, is probably identical with the John Yager,
Jr. who married Susannah BERRRY in 1801 in Madison County. John Yager, Sr.
and Aaron Wilhoit securities to his marriage bond. This John Jr. is called
John W. Yager in Germanna Record No. 10, but I think this is not correct.
___________
> YAGER, John, Senior=W.
This John Yager, Sr., and John W. Yager are not clearly placed in my mind or
database. Many possibilities. I welcome input on them.
**********************************************
> YAGER, Michael, decd*
PROBABLY, since he is deceased, this is Michael3 (Adam2, Nicholas1) who died
in Madison county in 1794. His son Michael is another possibility but I
don't have a death record for him by 1815. Incidentally, his estate was
appraised by Benjamin Dicken, Richard Dicken and Richard Lewis. This makes
him an excellent candidate to be the father of the elusive Adam Yager who
married Ann DICKEN in 1792, though no such son is named in Michael's will of
174.

> YAGER, Michael; east side Thoroughfare MTN; 8E
No doubt son of the above, Michael4 Yager (Michael3, Adam2, Nicholas1)

> YAGER, Nicholas, heirs=5NW.
Probably Nicholas4 (Nicholas3, Adam2, Nicholas1) who died in Madison County
in 1793, husband of Jemima Yager (Adam3, Adam2, Nicholas1).
