Good Morning Stan,
First, I want to thank you for your answer to the E-mail regarding the
Red
Stone Settlement. Gene, my better half, wrote the query for me since I
gave
up all my county nets when I spent some time in the hospital. I have
been
searching for this early settlement for sometime, I knew it was in
Pennsylvania but never could locate it. I have been working on my
mother's
side of the family, which was "Gallion" when they emigrated over to
Maryland
from London, England. I know some of the Gallions moved to the
settlement
in the mid 1800's and later moved on to Columbiana County, Ohio from
there.
I have not been able to place this Gallion to any family, I do know
that
this particular Gallion man married the widow Vandergrift in the
settlement,
who was the former Lydia Hawkins.
Thanks again for the information, I really appreciate the help. You may
remember me from my Robert Tanner book if you are a Germanna ancestor.
Best Wishes,
Leatrice
