Hi, Christine;
I also live in California and am a Rählsbach desdendant. My Joseph Rausch
married Susannah, daughter of Johann Rählsbach. Would you please ask your
contact in Eisern if he knows of any Rausch families? We do not have Johann
Rausch's hometown. I was also in Eisern 4 years ago and took pictures of
the church where the Rählsbach family attended. I would be glad to share my
family research with you.
Anita Rouse Schmidt

Railsback of Eisern, Germany. My husband and I visited Eisern this Fall, to
find out what we could about the Railsback's in Germany. For the first time,
I was informed about the Germanna Colonies and have followed your
correspondence with great interest. The Railsback's lived in Eisern, but
worked in Rinsdorf. I met a young man and his family in Rinsdorf who
informed me about the emigrants from the area. I assume that John Railsback,
of the Hebron Church group, was a relative of Henry Railsback, who came to
America in 1760, via Hamburg. Would Henry have joined a Germanna Colony by
that time? I know the family migrated from Loudon Co. Virginia to the
Carolinas, to Indiana and finally to California where I now live.

Railsback family. I am still in touch with the young man in Rinsdorf who is
a history buff and very well-informed about the Rinsdorf area and surrounds.
I plan to become a member of the Germanna Society, as well as to order some
of your publications.
