Subject: [GERMANNA] HUFFMANs of Little Fork Group, Culpeper Co., VA

In Goodspeed, The Goodspeed Histories of Sabastian County, Arkansas, orig pub
1889, repub by Woodward and Stinson Printing Co., Columbia, Tennessee, 1977,
p 1327, it states that Nathan HUFFMAN was born near Culpeper Court House.
Nathan, son of Benjamin (Tillman, Henry-1734 immigrant/Little Fork Group) was
born 31 Oct 1801, Culpeper Co., VA.
As "near" is a relative term, I am not sure just where the Benjamin HUFFMAN
family was located at the time. There is a standing house about 15 miles
west of Culpeper (town) which is known as the FREEMAN-HUFFMAN house. Since
Tillman HUFFMAN m2. c1756 Mrs. Margaret FREEMAN, it may be in this home that
Nathan was born.
Nathan's mother, wife of Benjamin, is unknown. It is believed that her first
name was Margaret/Peggy.
The 1800 specific location of Benjamin's family would be of great help. Does
someone have access to Culpeper documents which might shed some light on this
issue?
Best regards,
Hugh
