How terrible! Isn't that a shame? I was told that the petitions had the
most information, and thought that would be the answer to many questions.
I probably shouldn't email now to ask for the Declarations until I get my
"German" calmed down, or maybe it's my Irish!
How could they just destroy records like that?!!!
I found the town of birth of my grgrandfather on the back of his second
marriage license, which took place after he moved to IL. It also had his parents
names on it, so I was excited about that. Before that all we had was Saxony.
His first marriage was in St. Louis and I haven't received the copy yet to
see what it says.
