Subject: Re: [Germans-STL] Old Rhyme from my German family

My parents were children of German and Luxembourg immigrants and said the
same sauerkraut rhyme.
On the other hand, I learned a song with German origins in first grade in a
Catholic school in a German community in Oklahoma. It was to help us learn out
body parts. It went like this, complete with accent:
Das is myself, das, das, das here.
(Point at head) Das is my tinkboxer, my mama dear.
Dots what I learned in der skool.
Das is myself, das, das, das here.
(point at eyes) Das is my eyeblinker, my mama dear.
Tinkboxer, (point at head), eyeblinker (point at eyes), nicky, nicky, noo,
dots what I learned in der skool.
Then the song went on, adding a new body part and repeating the entire thing
from top to bottom.
Until song ended with this:
Tinkboxer, eyeblinker, nosedropper, moutheater, chinchopper, heartthumper,
breadbasket, kneebender,
Nicky, nicky, noo, dots what I learned in der skool.
I may have missed a body part or two--it gets a little tricky with little
kids. Has anyone else heard of this? I've never found another soul who learned
this in school
