I just got back from a family reunion in Hendersonville, NC. An old local
family rumor was mentioned to me and I would like to see if anyone has ever
heard this.

It would be about John Gibbs who married Rebecca Connelly. John Gibbs would
have been a Gibs (with one b) and then somewhere there was a son of a Gibs,
therefore, Gibson of origin.

Does anyone have any leads on who John's father may have been? Is it
possible that he came from one of those European countries that did that?
