I am sorry to report that James Gilbert's slowness in reporting his new data is that I have just today put a copy of my Gilbert file in the mail to him so he might not have anything to report on his line until he gets this package. Lazy summer air, I guess. Kate

Subject: [GILBERT-DNA] Project Update

Hello Everyone!

I just thought I'd give a quick update on the project.

First, I have to warn you that I've rearranged the ordering of the results on the results page. I've now grouped the results based on the predicted or tested haplogroup results. This seems to make more sense than just putting them in numerical order of the results.

Secondly, the results of one of our new participants came in last week. They showed that he definitely falls in to the Harford/Baltimore Co. MD Gilbert line. This might have initially been news to him, but after I sent out the e-mail to the group when he joined, one of our other participants contacted me to tell me that this gentleman's line was definitely part of her Gilbert line. The DNA results have proven that. I'll update his lineage information as soon as he's comfortable with what's been learned, and he provides me with a new lineage.

Right now, we have one other set of results outstanding. As coincidence would have it, this participant is having her line tested to confirm her research which ties her family to the Harford/Baltimore Co. Gilberts also. We are very quickly now establishing a nice baseline for this line. I had fretted for quite awhile that this line wasn't represented because it is one of the oldest Gilbert lines in the United States. I fret no more. : )

That's it for now. I'll e-mail again when the next set of results are in or when we have another new participant.

Cheers!

Jane
