I hope there is someone else on this list besides me.

My husband, Robert REDDELL, is related to Rebecca GILMORE,
who was b. in MO. in 1825, dau. of Levi GILMORE.

I'm including what I have re Adam GILMORE, and will send more
re this line of descendants.

1. ADAM1 GILMORE was born March 12, 1763 in Pelham, MA, and died May 27,
1833 in Ripton, VT. He married ELIZABETH KETCHAM Abt. 1790 in Bristol, VT.

Notes for ADAM GILMORE:
Adam Gilmore was born 12 Mar, 1763 at Pelham, MA.
He may have lived both in Pelham and Hadley, MA.
in the Rev. War. At that time (1779) he stood five feet,
four inches tall and is described as being of light
complexion. His enlistment was in Capt. Benson's
Company of Infantry, Col. Pitman's Regiment of the
Militia of Massachusetts. He was in the march from
Hadley to West Point. He was there when Major Andre
was hanged. About 1790. he was married to Elizabeth
Ketcham, at Brostol, VT. At some point in his life he
became a minister. He applied for his Rev. War pension,
6 July, 1832. His application was approved (this came
under the act of 7 June, 1832). He died at Ripton, VT, 27
May, 1833.

2. LEVI2 GILMORE (ADAM1) was born March 08, 1794 in VT, and died 1862 in
Parker Co. TX. He married (1) SARAH. He married (2) SARAH (SALLY) LINDSEY
Abt. 1819 in IN.

Notes for LEVI GILMORE:
Levi Gilmore was the ancestor of the Gilmore family
in Big Creek country in Eastern Newton Co. Arkansas.
Levi was a native of Vermont and in that state, grew to
mature years and obtained a fair education. As a young
man, he started westward, stopping for awhile in Indiana.
There he met and married Sarah (Sally) Lindsey, ( said
to have been born in upper Canada). They apparently
moved to Missouri where he followed rafting on the
Gasconda River for a number of years. Then he moved
to Newton Co. Arkansas, and lived in the Big Creek area.
There he improved a good farm. Just before the Civil War,
he and his second wife, Sarah _?_, moved to Parker Co.
TX, where his son, Asa, and other relatives lived. He
died in that county in 1862. He had served in the War of
1812, but no records of application for pension for this
service.

SUSANNA CRINER.

Kelsey Gilmore served in the Union Army during
the Civil War. He was in Company D, Second Arkansas
Calvary.

Notes for CEVINA (SAVINA) GILMORE:
Savina (Cevina) Gilmore, married Lemuel R. Jones,
on 26 Aug. 1853. She died in 1888. Mr. Jones was born
1 Feb. 1833, in St. Francis County, MO. He was the son
of Solomon and Ezilabeth (Burman) Jones. I believe
the elder Mr. Jones may have been from NC, and that
his wife was from TN.

11. MARY ANN4 TENNISON (REBECCA JANE3 GILMORE, LEVI2, ADAM1) was born July
04, 1854 in AR, and died May 31, 1922 in Red Rock, Newton Co, AR. She
married SIMON SOLOMON SUTTON 1871 in Parker Co, TX, son of EPHRIAM SUTTON
and BARBARA GALBREATH.

Notes for MARY ANN TENNISON:
Mary Ann was the daughter of John Tennison, and Rebecca Gilmore.
Her father was murdered in front of their home, in Newton Co. AR.,
by Chief Longhair and his murderous band, under the guise of trying
to force John to fight for the confederacy. Mary Ann was 7 years old at
that time. The war was imminent, and after John was murdered, his
family suffered much hardship. Mary Ann's mother took her children
to Parker Co. TX. soon after the war was over.
Mary Ann was by then, a teenager and in love with Simon Solomon.
He followed her there and soon after they were married. After the birth
of their 1st child, William Robert, they came back to Newton Co. AR.
where Simon trained to become a doctor. They raised their children at
Red Rock, and are buried on their home place. It's believed that this
farm was 1st owned by his father, Ephriam. He and his wife are also
buried on the farm.

Notes for SIMON SOLOMON SUTTON:
Simon Solomon was a doctor in Newton Co. AR. for
many years. He lived at Red Rock.
He and Mary Ann were married in the latter part of
1871, in Parker Co. TX., but came back to AR. with
their young son, William Robert.
He and Mary Ann are buried on their homeplace, at
Red Rock, Newton Co. AR.

Isaac Monroe, the second born of Simon, died at
an early age. He's buried in the Smith Cemetery on
Big Creek, near his mother's parents.

Notes for JOHN COLOMBUS SUTTON:
John Colombus is buried in the Cross Roads Cemetery,
near Deer, AR. His 1st wife, Belle, died at age 19 years.
In 1902 he remarried to Hannah Jane Faught Norton, who
was born at Deer, AR.

John had been a successful farmer and carried the mail
between Red Rock and Vendor, AR. for a number of years.

Notes for HANNAH JANE FAUGHT NORTON:
Hannah Jane was the 2nd wife of John Columbus Sutton.
She died in Harrison, Boone Co. AR., on 9 Jan. 1969.
One of her many kind tasks in life had been the
supervision of a government cannery during the depression
years (early thirties).
