Much to my delight, I have recently found new information on my Gilmore
family who moved from Lawrence Co. Ohio to LA.
Alonzo Gilmore, listed as Gilman in 1910 census, b. ca. 1849 in Lawrence
Co., married to Bell Newman, had children, Myrtle Gilmore, b. 1885, married
to James FOX. Cecil Gilmore, b. 1890, Murphy Gilmore, b. 1896, died Dec.
1973.
Stella, b. 1887, married to Walter JAMES, had a son, Alonzo James.
One of the daughters apparently had married a BOBIN, as there is an 18 year
old Leo BOBIN, listed as grandson, in the 1920 St. Mary's Parish Census
living with Alonzo/Lon and Bell Gilmore.
If this family is familiar to anyone, I would love to hear from you.
