LS, I have John GILSHENAN (s/o Hugh GILSHENAN [?]), born in Ireland, circa 1808-1828 [?], married in Ann Arbor, Michigan [?], about 1848, to Margaret GILSON (d/o John GILSON and Margaret BARRINGER) (1824-1915).

John Gilshenan died November 7, 1849. It appears that John Gilshenan and his father, Hugh, were in southeastern Michigan by June, 1836.

John Gilshenan and Margaret Gilson had one daughter, Margaret "Maggie" T. Gilshenan (1849-1928). After John's death, Margaret Gilson remarried to John Michael KEARNEY (s/o Michael Fenton KEARNEY and Catherine CURRAN), born (1825-1891).

I've been tickled by a Gilson marrying a Gilshenan, but I don't have any evidence that John Gilshenan and Margaret Gilson were closely related.

Do any of these names ring a bell with you?
