Thanks for the info and the suggestion, Jay.

In all the years I have sent work/spread sheet attachments in the space industry, we always send Excel files as attachments. I have never sent Adobe Acrobat attachments and we really don't use them, however I am very familiar with the Adobe Acrobat. Most people only have the capability to read or print Adobe. I was trying to send something someone could copy out of the email and paste into a spreadsheet. Quite handy for editing, sorting, and pulling filters. I do all my census entries this way to make it easy for future referencing.

I prefer Excel because you can save it to a lower version and anyone with MSWorks can read it. Most people have Excel or Works if they have Windows platform.

Rootsweb won't accept attachments anyway.

One of the reasons I am puzzled by the format corruption is because in the past I have copied and pasted portions of Excel files to Rootsweb emails and it has worked quite well. I am going to try and add some spaces and see what happens.

Again,
Thanks for your suggestion and I will explore Adobe a bit more.

A way to solve your format problem.

The excel read sheet should be converted to a Adobe Acrobat PDF file and
be attached to your email as a attachment. Acrobat is the industry
standard for sending files that do not become format corrupted.
