Here is the Hanock Jackson will. It is from Family History Library reel
#875,149, New York Surrogate COurt record vol. 16 page 20 new liber (21 old
liber). Please excuse the lack of punctuation, but except for five dashes
toward the end of the document, I didn't see any.
In the Name of God Amen this fifteenth day of September in the Year of our
Lord God One Thousand seven Hundred and Forty six I Harnock Jackson of
Goshen in the County of Orange and province of New York being sick and weak
of Body but of sound and perfect mind and Memory thanks be to Almighty God
for same and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life and
that it is appointed for all flesh to die do make constitute appoint and
ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is
to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the
Hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping at the General Resurrection to
receive Remission and forgiveness of my Manifold Sins through the Merrits of
Christ and my Body to be buried in a Christian like and Decent manner at the
discretion of my Executors hereafter named and for such worldly Estate as it
hath pleased God in this life to bestow upon me I give and Dispose of the
same in manner and form following that is to say I give and Bequeath to
William Gelstone all my lands and Tenements in the Patten of Waweyanda
providing he the said William Gelstone shall pay or cause to be paid to his
Sister Jane Currey the sum of Ten Pounds five Shillings to his Sister
Elizabeth Gelstone the sum of seventeen pounds ten shillings and to his
Brother Hugh Gelstone the sum of seventeen pounds ten shillings New York
Money in Twelve Months after my decease which said Lands and Tenements I
give and Devise to the said William Gelstone his heirs and assigns forever
Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Jackson the sum of Five Shillings New
York Money Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Gale the Sum of Five Shillings
New York Money Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Smith the Sum of Ten
Pounds New York Money and as for my Moveable Estate after all my just debts
and funeral Expenses and other Necessary Disbursements shall be paid and
Satisfied there out my Will and pleasure is that the remainder thereof be
Equally divided among Samuel Gelston William Gelstone Elizabeth Gelstone and
Hugh Gelstone And further I do hereby nominate and appoint Thomas Smith and
David MCamley both of Orange County to be Sole Executors of this my last
Will and Testament revoking and by these presents-----Disannulling all other
former Gifts Grants Wills or Bequeathments by me in any ways heretofore made
Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my lastg will and Testament
in presence of
Hanock (her mark) Jackson
Signed sealed published pronounced and Declared by the said Hanock Jackson
as her last Will and Testament in presence of Henry Weesner Junior John
