Hello Peter,

You may get a number of replies regarding Colyn Dolphin.

In 1913 Marrianne Robertson Spencer published her Annals of South Glamorgan
and according to her Colyn Dolphin was tried according to the old Welsh law
and that he was found guilty and hanged on an oak tree in the grounds of the
castle. She writes that Sir Harry Stradling was severely reprimanded by
Henry VI for taking the law into his own hands and hanging the pirate
captain.

Her book was reprinted in 1970 for Stewart Williams no ISBN numbers in those
days.

Regards

Parry Edwards
