Hi Listers,
I have been asked by a Glam Lister, off-list, if I could help with finding
the location of Treboeth in Swansea.
This is not an area with which I am familiar, but I was able to find it
quickly with my pocket-sized 'Philip's Cardiff, Swansea and the Valleys
Street Atlas'.
As many of our listers overseas won't access to such a useful tool, here's
how to find a location on the net. This is the first time I've found one
myself, using the following method, so I thought I would share it with
those who haven't used this site before, either.
To find a map in the U.K. you need the web site www.streetmap.co.uk
Put in the name of the place you want to locate into the search.
First, I put in Treboeth, but came up with Treboeth in Powys, Wales, which
was not the right one.
I went back to the search and put a hyphen in to make it Tre-boeth and four
places called Tre-boeth came up including the one I wanted in Swansea.
I clicked on Tre-boeth, Swansea and came up with a map of Swansea.
The arrow on the map showed the location of Treboeth.
At the bottom of the map I clicked on the + sign, which brought up a larger
map.
When the larger map comes up, you can click on the green or red arrow keys
to take you to the next map in the area.
