Swansea was only recognised as a city in 1969, and has only had a Lord Mayor
since1982. Swansea had Mayors from the local government reform about 1835.
Before that the equivalent title in the old Borough of Swansea was the
Portreeve. I think an Alderman PHILLIPS was Mayor one year in the early
1870s, before Frank Ash YEO 1874-5.

including email links. There used to be a Lord Mayor's secretary who
organised the Mayor's schedule, though I am not certain whether this post
still exists.

I don't know about a statue near the Patti Pavilion. What there may be is
the name of the mayor on some sort of plaque commemorating a building or
other civic enterprise. There are various of these on various libraries,
bridges etc.
