>Hi. All that I know of Eliza Glines is her approximate date of marriage;
1819 Cumberland, >ME. I have been told that the Glines family is an old one
in the Eaton, Carroll Co., NH >area that I was searching for Josiah S.
Flood's parents. If you haven't already checked >with the Henney History Room

The address is:

Daniel, and Silas.

>Eli C.(Eli, John, John, William) Glines, born 1817 in Eaton, son of Eli
>1763-1858 and Abigail (Foss) 1762-1840, married Sarah Jane (Ferren) born
>Eaton, 1827.
>I have listed as their children:
>Eli S., born c.1847
>Henry A., born c. 1848

>Eli C. Glines was married 5 Mar 1846 to Sarah Jane Ferren by Silas Gaskell,
>minister of the gospel. Eli was a selectman 1851-2, Surveyor of Lumber 1844,
>Surveyor of Highway, district # 16 1846.

>The 1840 Eaton Census lists Eli Glines 76, with three females over 36 living
i>n his househould.

>1850 Census lists:
>Eli C. 33
>Sally 23
>Eli S. 3
>Henry A. 2
>Eli 86, Revolutionary Pensioner
>Polly 73

>I didn't find Eli Glines listed in the 1860 Eaton Census.

>The third child must have been born after 1850.

Well, I have a whole lot different from you, and I guess we need to
compare more notes.

First off I have
Eli Clark(Thomas,John,John,William)

Eli 86 Revolutionary Pensioner
Polly 73

ELI, Polly W25631, Cont and NH Line, sol appl 16 may 1818
Strafford Co NH aged 54, sol enl at Newbury,,NY in 1820 sol had a
wife aged 57 and his mother aged 80 living with him. Wid appl 3
aug 1858 Carroll Co NH aged 80, sol and wid had married 14 apr
1842, sol d 24 apr 1858

The above is Eli that married Abigail Foss and his second wife is
Polly some have her as Ferren, there is question if she is a Ferren.

I have Eli Glines and Abigail Foss having
1. Sally Glines
2. Thomas Glines
3. Mary “Polly” Glines

Then I have Thomas Glines married to Ruth S. Banfield
having ten children one of them being Eli Clark that married Sarah
Jane Ferren.

children
1. Eli Shephard Glines 1847 named after his mother Sarah’s father
2. Henry Arthur 1849
3. possibly 5 more until last
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.Gertrude Maria Glines 26 Jun 1865 Peabody, Essex,Mass

So here is where I say there is a gap, and the reason they are not
found on NH Census is they are in Massachusetts. But when they
got there I don't know. This family is a line of a friends, although
my husband is a Glines also, then this line with Eli has not been my
most studied line.

One Problem is I have Eli Clark Glines born 19 Dec 1815 and the
Census has him as 33 in 1850 which would make him 1817 instead.
Then Eli being 86 in 1850 throws me off again because I have his
birth 1754 which then he would be 96 instead of 86.

But looking back up at the sol application saying he is age 54 in
1818 when he applied puts the birth I have as 1754 off. I have him
born 11 Apr 1754.

So do you have a birth date for him that fits. But then to think that
Eli born in 1764 is the father of a son Eli Clark in 1815 and I have
Abigail Foss as being born 12 Dec 1761 maybe I am wrong here
also. But even if she was abt 1764 like her husband that would make
her 53 years old.

So as you can see we need to work out a few things and possibly
exchange more info.

Do you have a name for the second John Glines wife besides
Abigail?

And when you say Eaton, are we talking about Eaton, Strafford Co,
or Carroll Co.? There is supposed to be two different Eaton’s One is
Eaton Center and the other Eaton.

Thank You
Sonia Glines
