I have in my possesion quite a long histroy of the Washburn history
dating back to Sir Roger Washbourne of Little Washbourne (around
1259). If there is any other information about the town of Little
Washbourne or Washburn/Washbourne history, how might I aquire it?

Hello everyone:
I have just received copy of a marriage certificate for a wedding
in 1868 at St. Mark's, Gloucester. The bride Louisa Cox was living
on Broshart (?) Place, and the groom John Lake on Newland Street.
I have a copy of a 1900 map of Gloucester from the Victorian Histories
and see that St. Mark's is on Worcester Parade (the top of the map
is Sweetbriar Street). But I cannot see Newland Street or Broshart
Place.
Could someone kindly tell me the location of these streets please.
Thanks - Joan

Bob
South Hamlet is certainly not the name of a village as far as I can tell. When you found this on the 1881 census, it should have given you an enumeration district, parish etc. From the way you described it, I would suspect that 'South Hamlet' is just part of a small village or parish. Can you check the enumerators datails and get back to me?
Kind regards
Rosemary

Subject: Durham in South Hamlet
Hello,
I've just subscribed to the mailing list and am wondering if anybody can
help with the following:-
My wife's GGrandfather Abraham DURHAM is described in the 1881 Census index
for Gloucestershire as a Brewer in South Hamlet. Can anybody tell me
exactly where South Hamlet is today, and where I can find any information
on brewers/brewing there.
Also if anyone has information on Abraham or any Durhams in Gloucestershire
I would be grateful if they could share it with me.
Many thanks,
Bob

Can anyone offer any information on the following?
I am looking for confirmation/details of a marriage between a Richard
CLARIDGE and Martha (last name unknown) which probably occurred between
1789-1795.
Location could have been Northleach, maybe Windrush area, but not
necessarily.
Regards
Sue
