Robert Tanner asked:-
> A letter from "Aunt Jeannie" to my father dated 1926 has the address "2
Chapel Lane, Ebley". Is there a lister familiar enough with Stroud to tell
me if that is the address of "Bridge House", or had Aunt Jeannie moved. If
so, where abouts in Ebley is Chapel Lane? I can't find it on any of the
maps I have been able to look at on the internet.
The start of Chapel Lane Ebley is about 200 metres to the NE of Bridge House
on the Stroudwater Canal. Bridge House is listed today as being in Bridge
Road. I do not believe they could be the same address.
The present post codes for the two addresses are GL5 4TA (2 Chapel Lane)
and GL5 4TR (Bridge House). The excellent www.multimap.com site will
pinpoint the two locations for you.
