Carolyn,
Thank you for putting it so well.
I, for one, am one of those that started my family history before the days of computers in every home, and dropped it because of other obligations, including my family.
Today my life is much different, but most of my genealogy is done in the wee hours of the night. It's not that I can't make a five hour trip, if I have to, but rather, I could spend that five hours researching. And yes, maybe we are too busy, but because of my work obligations and the time I want to spend with my family, genealogy, as much as I love it, would have to drop to the bottom of the list.
Therefore, while I am capable of making a trip to a library five hours away, I think I represent those of us which are not retired or elderly, work very hard and still want to pursue this wonderful personal study.
