Jehu Langley b abt 1774 d 1830 Edgecombe Co. NC had an older brother
Isaiah Langley b bef 1765 whose gr dau Susan Langley b 1830 m 1856 in
Edgecombe my older George Washington Goff b 1800. The given name 'Jehu'
was often corrupted to John in Edgecombe and Pitt records. The
Langleys, Goffs and Duprees (who also married into my Goff family) were
neighbors on the Edgecombe/Pitt Co. line. See my email, subject
'NansemondCoVA>EastNC.'

The brother of my Geo W. Goff, Wm Ennis Goff, moved to Washington Co. GA
and appears there in the 1850 census. He married Ruth Orr there in abt
1844. His was the only Goff family found in Washington Co.

Thomas Goff Jr. b 1756-1762 m 1784-1792 Pitt Co. NC had sons John b
1784-1794 and Allen b aft 1792. This Thomas Goff removed from Pitt in
1810, likely with son Allen. He probably moved to GA but I haven't
found him as yet. In 1818 Benj C. Dupree Jr. and Edmunds Dupree removed
from Pitt to Twiggs Co. GA, but so far I've found no Goffs in Twiggs.

Perhaps this is a clue to your Jehu Goff.
