I found this in the Appleton (Wis.) Post Crescent on line obituaries.
He was a relative of mine and helped the family with our Genealogical
search. He will be missed.
Goodman, Elmer C.
842 Maple Street, Neenah
Age 84, died Tuesday June 11, 2002 at St.
Elizabeth Hospital following a five month illness. He was born February
15, 1918 in Neenah, son of Edward and Vernie (Pendleton) Goodman. Elmer
married Betty Christopher, April 24, 1948 at St. Margaret Mary Church,
Neenah. He was employed at Kimberly Clark Corporation, Lakeview Mill for
42 years prior to his retirement in 1982 and was a member of the
Lakeview retirees. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church,
Neenah and the Always Young Group of the church. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, having served with the 3rd Division 10th
Engineers in the European Theatre and was a member of the Neenah
Memorial VFW Post #10893. He was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul and
was a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 45 for many years. Elmer loved
spending time at his cabin in Lakewood.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Betty; his
children: Christopher (Jeannie) Goodman, Appleton; Mark (Nancy), Neenah;
James (Julie), Milwaukee; his grandchildren: Jennifer Hanneman (Eric
Jankowski), Matthew and Emily Kapszukicz, Kristina and Alexandra
Goodman, Sarah, Aaron, Mary and Elisabeth Goodman; a sister, Lucille
Appleton. He was preceded in death by two daughters: Diane
Hanneman and an infant, Mary Elizabeth; five sisters and a brother:
Corrine Westfahl, Geraldine Reinders, Bernice Hamlyn, Dorothy Armstrong,
Rachel Kirk and Bob Goodman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June
14, 2002 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah with
Rev. David J. Koch officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret
Cemetery, Neenah where military rites will be conducted. Friends may
call at the Kessler Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the
church from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the mass. A memorial has
been established. The family
wishes to extend a special thank you to Drs. Robert Gellera nd Michael
Kademian and their staffs for their care and compassion for Elmer and
also the nurses and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital on four south.
