I promised to get back to the list on this a couple of weeks ago - sorry for
the delay.

The Chelsea Registration District has suffererd (along with most of the
London districts) as far as missing pages from the 1861 census is concerned.
My colleague has estimated that roughly 7.5% of the returns for Chelsea are
missing - or to put it another way, only 92.5% has survived.

The breakdown for the three sub-districts is as follows:
- SD1 Chelsea South (RG9 30-32) 92.8%
- SD2 Chelsea NW (RG9 33-35) 89.2%
- SD3 Chelsea NE (RG9 36-39) 95.1%

Unfortunately, the project to identify all the missing sections of the 1861
census is currently in a state of hiatus but they're hoping to make the
results of the research carried out to date available on The National
Archives' wiki: Your Archives.

Andrew and list

I think the project is still ongoing - I'm away from Kew for a few days but
I'll check when I return next week. I can also see what the situation is
with Chelsea RD.

Cheers, Dave
