I am searching for any descendents of Gilbert GORDON and his wife Mary
BARTLE.

Gilbert GORDON was a physician in Newark, NY and had apparently
immigrated
grom Scotland with other brothers who may also have been
physicians. He was
born c 1790.
His wife, Mary BARTLE was born in Newark, NY in 1796.
Their first child was born in 1817 so they were possibly married
around 1815
or so.
The family history said they had a large family, but at this time I
only have
names of 4 sons. Apparently there was a son (also a physician) and a
daughter who both died as adults of "Consumption" - aka tuberculosis.

We know that in the 1860's Mary was found in Missouri and Michigan
with her
sons Linus and Lorenzo, and a 3rd son James, had died around that
time.
She always lived with Linus and his family and we know when and
where she
died. But we do not know about Gilbert - it is family history that
they were
divorced and Gilbert remained in Newark, NY.
The 4 sons are
Linus (our ancestor) b. 1828 Newark, NY d. 1869 Detroit, MI
James b. 1822 Newark, NY d. 1859 Sturgis, MI
Andrew b. 1817 New York
Lorenzo b. 1829 New York

Anyone with GORDONs in New York that may be able to connect to this
family?
