Goss researchers,

My wife's ggg grandmother was Clara Stowell born 4 Mar 1813, Guilford,
Windham Co., Vermont. Married Benjamin Franklin of Guilford, in Guilford, VT
9 Jun 1839. Moved with her husband to Roxbury, MA and died there 24 Dec 1893
and is buried in the Forest Hills Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Ira Stowell and Eleanor GOSS. Ira Stowell was born
17 Nov 1780 in Guilford, VT and died there 30 Jun 1825. He married Eleanor
Goss 25 December 1808 in Guilford. Eleanor(GOSS)Stowell is said to have been
born 28 Mar 1787 in Phillipston, Worcester Co., MA. She died in Roxbury, MA
Mar 1846. She is listed in neither Philipston nor Roxbury Vital records.

Eleanor Goss is said to have been the daughter of Stephen and Hannah
(Burpee)GOSS. Stephen GOSS and Hannah Burpee were married 8 Apr 1778 in
Lancaster, Worcester Co. MA (LVR). Stephen GOSS was born 6 Apr 1754 in
Philipstown, Worcester Co., MA and died 22 Dec 1842 in Guilford, VT. Hannah
Burpee was born 25 Nov 1757 in Lancaster, MA in that part that is now
Sterling. She was the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Brocklebank) Burpee
(LVR). She died after 13 Aug 1799.

Stephen and Hannah GOSS had the following children

She died 25 Sep 1869 Christian Co., Illinois

Looking to verify the information on Stephen GOSS and his children. He was a
Revolutionary War soldier. He is listed in the 1790 & 1800 Census in
Sterling, MA and the 1830 & 1840 census in Guilford, VT.

Have not been able to find the parents of Stephen Goss. among the many Goss
families of Worcester County, Massachusetts.
