At this point, you are well ahead of what I know. After your second message, it seems now there may be no connection. As far back as I have gone, the Myers family were firmly in Protestantism, and were definitely not Jewish. It also seems as though there was a strong concentration of my Myers line in Ohio, but I don't see any evidence (so far) of the family migrating further south. Sorry to be of so little help!
