Pauline Samples, 101
Graduated from Brush High School in 1924
Pauline Ruth (Floth) Samples, 101, former longtime resident of Fort Morgan,
died Tuesday, April 22, at her home in Santa Rosa, Calif.
Mrs. Samples was born Aug. 19, 1906, in Lincoln, Neb., to George and Anna
(Batt) Floth. She grew up in Snyder, where her father worked for the Union
Pacific Railroad. She graduated from Brush High School in 1924. After
graduating from Barnes Business School in Denver, she worked at Carroll
Motor Company in Brush.
She married John Lewis Samples on April 26, 1930, at the Rankin Presbyterian
Church manse in Brush.
Mrs. Samples was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort
Morgan and a member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Samples of San Francisco, Calif.; a
son, John Mar Samples of Santa Rosa; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Samples was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and
brother, Ruben.
A private service will be held at a later date.
