Subject: [GRANNYS-NA-PANTRY] ONEIDA EVICTION
Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 11:20:34 -0700 (PDT)
For Immediate Release:
Distribution Wide:
August 7, 2003:
The ONYOTA'A:KA PEOPLE OF THE STANDING STONE Traditionals would like to
inform everyone due to appeal filings by their various pro-bono legal
teams the "orders for eviction and demolition" have been stayed
temporarily. This means for the moment our homes are safe.
It is requested concerned people still contact all New York government
officials and request they do not take "the deal" with the Oneida
Indian Nation that is currently on the table regarding the Indian Land
Claims act. In excess of 200,000 acres of prime New York land are
covered under this Land Claims act and the deal in question is one where
Ray Halbritter and his self created Oneida Indian Nation will sign a
deal with the state of New York for only 14,000 acres and a cash
settlement in excess of $250 million dollars. Any Indian Nation
wanting land after this deal goes through would have to obtain it by
applying to the faux Oneida Indian Government. A call and contact list
is located at the end of this release.
We want to thank all who made plans to physically alter your lives to
camp out here on the 32 acres and witness the demise of our material
goods, our homes and share the pains of our spirit.
