GEORGE GRANT - ca 1770 (New Jersey and Ticonderoga, NY)
I am searching for the parents of George Grant, bn 1794 allegedly in New
Jersey .. who was also a George Grant (ca 1770). George-1794 was brought to
the Ticonderoga, NY area in 1804 (according to the Ticonderoga Sentinel).
He married Phebe Miller in 1821. George & Phebe had 10 children, one of
them being George King Grant (bn 1828), my g-grandfather.
I have census records from 1820 thru 1870 on both of the above George's
(1794 & 1828), however, can find nothing on the parents of George (bn 1794).
According to accounts from newspapers, family history, the Ticonderoga
Historical Society, etc, George Grant and Joseph Weed operated an iron ore
facility.
Does anyone have any info on George Grant (ca 1770) and his wife or the two
George Grants born 1794 & 1828.
