Lynn,
Examination of the censuses of 1840,1850, 1860, and 1880 pretty much tell the story of who these people are. Let me put together a narrative:
In 1840 the census for Elias in Wabash County, IL shows 7 boys and 2 girls.
Here are the names of the 9 children gathered from the later censuses and cemetery record to which you refer:
William b.1823
James b. 1825
Louisa b. 1826
Perry b. 1830
Timothy b. 1831
Carroll b. 1833
Irvin b. 1834
Sylvester b. 1836
Merinda C b. 1838
*The name Percy is a misspelling; his name is Perry.)
The census for 1860 shows that Adorathy, Elias' wife and widow was born in North Carolina in 1798. Her name in the 1860 census is now Dorotha. This census also shows that Perry and Sylvester are still living with her. Elias died in 1852.
The 1870 census shows that Sylvester, now 34 has married Mary C. and has 1 boy, William b.; 1868 . In the 1870 census, he and Mary C. haved added another son, Jesse, b. 1871 and Minnie b. 1873. Dorotha, his mother, died in 1871. Once again, Sylvester's wife, Mary C. who was born in 1848, is an exact match for the Mary C. born the same year to Aaron and Eliza J Greathouse of Wabash County. We don't know the relationship of Aaron to Elias.
The only listing for Perry in 1870 shows a Perry in Carbondale. The age (39) is close, but the ages of his children make it appear that at best he married a woman who already had children. The census for 1880 is the first to show a listing for PG Greathouse. At first I thought this might be Perry, but the census shows that his parents were both born in Tennesee. Elias was born in Kentucky and Dorotha in North Carolina, so this apparently excludes him from Elias' family. However, Clement is the son of PG and Mary H. . Clement is listed in the 1880 census as a son in the household, b. 1864 or 1865. So in the graveyard records, PG and Mary H. are husband and wife. Mary H. was also born in Tennesee.
So going through the mystery records in the graveyard here is what we find:
Elias and Dorothy (Dorotha, Adorathy) husband and wife
Carroll, James, and William are three of their sons (Perry, Sylvester, Timothy, and Irvin are buried elsewhere).
Louisa is their daughter (we don't know what happened to Merinda C.)
Stella was the wife of PG's son Clement (see graveyard remarks). Another name for Stella is Estella. Since Clement and Estella were married, it seems obvious that Blanche is their daughter.
PG was born in Illinois and his wife Mary H in Tennesee
What is strange is that PG is buried with the family of Elias and Dorothy and that, although he was born in Illinois, he is first mentioned as PG in the census of 1880 in Illinois.
The census for 1870 does not show him in TN. Nor does the Census for 1850 or 1860. So PG may be Perry returned and with a new family. His son Clement was not born until 1865 or 1866.
George Greathouse: George is listed twice on the census pages, once on page 4 in the John Fisher household; and the second time with his mother Elzina Miller on page 5 in the George Carter household (Carter was only 24 and was married to 20 year old June Carter. They have a baby Rosa, age 2.
As to who George was, a look at the 1850 census for Frederick Miller tells us quite a lot. Elizabeth Majors, yes, our old friend, the daughter of John and Catherina is the missing link as to the identity of George Greathouse, age 5 in 1870. Look at the 1850 census closely and you will find George's mother (?) Elzina (also spelled Alzina) at age 20 married to James Miller and living next to Fredrick and Hester Miller with momma Elizabeth Majors, age 73, also with her daughter Hester. James and Elzina Miller had two babies, (Harris age 1 and Martha, an infant) but by 1870 something had gone awry and in 1870 Elzina Miller is living with another family and George Greathouse, age 5, is with her. The mystery is who is the Daddy? In the 1860 census she is named as Elcene and she has her son Harris now 11 with her and daughter Martha age 9. By 1870 Harris and Martha have grown up and left and she has baby George Greathouse and is alone. There is a Greathouse in the wood
shed, but which one? My guess is that given the fact that George is buried with PG and that Clement is born the same year, that PG is the father of George and that George was his illegitimate child with Elzina (Alzina, Elcene). Further, PG and Perry are one and the same.
Is the something to chew on or what?

1.ELIAS GREATHOUSE:
Larry feels this is Elias son of John Greathouse and Catharina Haack.
We have speculation that Elias son of John-Catharina was born in KY in
1802, so this could fit.
We have no wife listed for Elias, so Dorothy could be correct.
I have not found another Elias it might fit.
2.GEORGE GREATHOUSE:
We have a George Greathouse b. 1865 son of Floyd greathouse and Mary in
our Herman Groethausen family file.
No other information to help identify if this is the right placement.
We have no other Georges that might fit.
3.JAMES GREATHOUSE
In our David and Pensillah family we have James P. Greathouse b. abt
1820 child of David Greathouse and Margaret Brittainm David was b in
White IL.
In our Harmon 1787 we have James D. greathouse b. Abt 1925 in St. Clair
MO., wife Bertha, son of James Alexander Greathouse and Mary Mila Collins.
IN John and catharina we have James, no date son of Daniel b. abt 1794
and Catharine Shadle.
4. WILLIAM B. GREATHOUSE
In our Herman Groethausen we have William born. abt 1825 son of Luther
and Mary Samuels. IN the same file we have William son of William
Greathouse b. 1791 and Jane Lewis.
I have not found any potential matches for the rest of the people
listed in this cemetery.
Hopefully some of you know who these folks are, or have some suggestion.
The matches I have shown are only potential matches and this group needs
research. It would really help if we could locate a couple of people
closely allied that fit this list. Buried in the same cemetery they
might well be close relatives of each other..
If you have any clues to the identity of these people, please share them!

Hello,
Wow we have some super researchers!
Rick Greathouse and Betty Dotson Renick have provided some great census
research.
I believe we have some conclusions from this.
This ties Elias to Kentucky and pretty well establishes he is the Elias
with a son Sylvester we have in the John and Catharina family.
It does not establish the tie to John and Catharina. For now we will
keep that connection, but it needs confirming.
I think we have established his wife and children(at least some of
them) and I will add them.
It establishes Sylvester's wife and children.(again, at least some them)
This does not really tell us who Clement and Estella and Blanche are and
it does not yet tell us who George and William are.
From the cemetery records we can now place
Carroll, Dorothy,Elias, and Mary
This could be the George in John Fisher's household, but for now it
tells us little..still a good clue!
And we need to connect Clement and Estella. Also James, Louisa J, Mary
H, P. G. and Willaim B.
But this is wonderful progress for one afternoon.
Thank you Rick and Betty. And thank you Larry.
If any others have clues, keep them coming :)
