Hello Cousins,

Johanna Nutter, Corresponding Secretary for the Roane County
Historical Society, www.wvroane.org, has shared the following
announcement about our 2008 Genealogical Fair.

Once again this year, I plan on hosting a table for Greathouse Point,
where I will be sharing our collected research on the Greathouse
family of Roane County, VA/WV with any fair attenders who are seeking
additional information about their Greathouse and associated families.

Last year, there was more than enough interest in the Greathouse
family to keep me busy from 9am to 3pm, so if any of you are planning
on attending the fair this year and you would like to help out at our
table for Greathouse Point, you would be more than welcome to do so.

If you are planning on attending our fair this year, please visit
Greathouse Point's table, sign our guest book and share any
information that you would like about your own Greathouse and
associated families. We look forward to seeing you there.

As Johanna stated in her announcement below, our fair this year will
be held at Heritage Park which is located within a short walk from the
Roane County Courthouse. The Courthouse is usually open until noon on
Saturdays. So if you arrive early, you should have plenty of time to
search for original source documents for your family at the Courthouse
and then spend some time with us at the fair.

There will be a few more announcements about our fair as the day for
this exciting event approaches.

Greetings to all,


The Roane County Historical Society's annual Genealogical Fair will be
held Saturday, September 27 , 2008, from 9-3, at the Heritage Park
Community Building, in Spencer WV. Please note this location is
different from the preceding years.. Food will be available on site.
The table rent for vendors will be $10.00 a table. Tables for
sharing your family history will be provided at no cost. Please let us
know if you plan on joining us .

We need to know if you will be selling any merchandise(vendor) and how
many tables you will need. We need to know if you will need
electricity. There will not be internet access available as the
Community Building does not have wireless access. We need to know if
you will be bringing your family history material and will need a
table for sharing.

Bring your computer, books, pictures and memories and share with us.
