Hi All,

Many thanks to all who replied to me about the troopship Leasow
Castle, a web search had only turned up info about a hotel thus
named, after a nearby building !

I would be grateful if you could let me know if any site dealing with
the Northumberland fusiliers, of which my gf Victor Ewart COPE was
supposedly a Captain on retirement, probably after the war. Any info
on the regiment, including where to write for further information
would be useful.

I have an old photo of him in uniform, with a single 'pip' on his
cuff ( a 2nd Lt. ?), and holding a curious bent handled cane (at
least it is curious to me). The cap badge is of the shape of a globe
with short 'flames' which I take to be a fusilier regiment, and the
Sam Browne seems to have a sword 'extension'. I've just posted the
photo on the web at:

www.hunimex.com/warwick/cope.html

Whilst the photo is not the most clear If any is able to add any
specific details, I would be very grateful.

Happy Hunting
