Subject: [WW1] Information on Death certs from Naval War Records
Date: Thu, 05 Apr 2001 18:48:52 +0100
I have a copy of an extract from an entry in the Naval War Records of
Deaths (1914 - 21). There is not much information on it and I wondered
if it is worth getting a "normal" death cert. Would this show, for
example, the cause of death? On mine it simply states "on war
service". It gives official numbers, brach of service, ship or unit
etc. Does not give any information of place of death either (though I
think it was HASLAR) I just wondered if it was worth paying for a
death cert to obtain more information.
Many thanks.
