Hello,
I was notified about this through another genealogy list.
Someone is going to make a movie based on a WWI song by Eric BOGLE,
a noted Australian folksinger (born Scotland). The song is known variously
as William (Willie) McBride, No Man's Land and the Green Fields of France.
British PM Tony Blair has said that it is his favorite "war song."
If anyone has more info about the song and/or the proposed movie,
please let me and the list know about it.
Thanks,
Annabel Schaupner, Michigan

PS At one of his concerts I met Eric (who resembles Anthony Hopkins) and I
asked whether we might be related (I descend from BOGLE's in Scotland &
Northern Ireland). After trading some brief family history, we tentatively
decided not. However I am continuing to try & link my BOGLE to the family
of origin in Ireland & Scotland. (I am descended from Ralph Bogle(Sr), born
Ireland 1765, died Wythe Co VA 1841.)

PPS Here is more information on the song from a noted researcher
(see <http://www.raymondscountydownwebsite.com>; and
)
There is already a small movie website too
