Nurse died on 8 October, 1916. I checked the Vis-En-Artois Memorial on the
same site and it states that the 9,000 names there are for those who fell
between 8 August, 1918 and the end of the war. So, how can this be??? >

Janice - (I'm not quite sure where my last reply to David went - hasn't come
back to me from rootsweb ?). -- Anyway, you are of course correct with what
CWGC says about the memorial, - that's why I drew attention to the need to
be a bit careful when looking at men named there who had a date of death
before 1918. The entries are real alright, and the dates of death are
correct, but the very fact that the men are named on that particular
memorial can (not always, but quite often) completely throw you off track if
you are trying to research their deaths.
