Hi
I also would like to find out more about one of my relatives. I know very
little about him - not even his parents names.

I have seen a scrap of paper with the following information on it:
19628 Pte Jas Mc Ivor
2nd Royal Scots Fusiliers
Attatched Military Police
(possibly) B.E.J. or B.E.F.
France
x 12th Division

He was born in Ireland, his sister was born in 1858 before birth reg began,
and I'm not sure where.

I know he was in France in the middle of WW1 but a letter from one of his
nephews who was killed in the war suggests that due to age he came back to
England during the war. James McIvor died after 1930 in Northern Ireland.

Could anyone tell me what the role the Military Police had? or how to find
out more information about him.

Thank you very much

Linda
