Yes, the Gurkhas (recruited from Nepal) were part of the British Indian Army.
Indeed, Gurka battalions still serve in both the British and Indian Armies.

Six Battalions of Gurkha Rifles (including the 1/4th Gurkas) served with the
BEF on the Western Front in 1914 and 1915. Some Gurkha battalions served in
Mesopotamia and Palestine during WWI, as well.
