Mark - I don't like commenting on medal index cards without actually seeing
them, but if this man's service was solely with the East Riding of Yorkshire
Yeomanry and he was discharged in May 1915 then no, he wouldn't have seen
overseas service or had medal entitlement, - the ER of YY did not go
overseas till November 1915 (to Egypt). The discharge would obviously have
been on medical grounds because it couldn't have resulted from wounds.

In passing - most SWB rolls (but not all) actually tell you whether a man
had overseas service. TNA (PRO) are very economical with their explanations
of the relationship between the medal index cards and the actual medal rolls
(which are not available on-line) and consequently an awful lot of people
are getting mightily "confused" about what the index cards are telling them
(or more importantly, what the roll[s] might tell them additionally if they
were consulted).
