Hi Ian

The medal card is an index not a record in itself. Sometimes a fact is
recorded, sometimes not eg often MM references are not included. As far
as their discharge class is concerned it all depends upon the conditions
they signed up for and when they were discharged. If they were still in
the army when the British War and Victory Medal rolls were compiled then
their class would be unknown and unlikely to appear on the medal card.
Equally if they had signed on as a regular they would have been
discharged to classes A B C or D depending on how much of their agreed
service they had actually served.

Regards

John
