Hi Forrest, thanks very much to you and Peter for the James Felton info
and a big thank you for the info on Sean Falvey. Missed the auction
though.
I never realised he died only two months before the withdrawal. Isn't
coincidence weird, in 1996 I stayed at the kibbutz Ma'ale Ha-hanisha in
the Judean hills not far from Jerusalem and not that far from Ramla, I
hadn't started the family tree at that stage and so didn't realise that
I was that close to my 1st cousin's resting place.

An A4 size 18-page typewritten photocopied Nominal Roll listing all 698
Fatal Casualties sustained by the British Army in Palestine from:
27th.,September 1945 to 30th.,June 1948. The list gives:
Number,Rank,Name,Regiment,and date (Although not cause) of death.

From my own records I have a note that 19030188 Fusilier J Falvey, aged
20, of the 2nd Bn Royal Irish Fusiliers died on 2 Feb 1948 and is buried
at Ramleh War Cemetery.
No doubt he'll be one of the 525 non-war burials mentioned in the CWGC's
page about Ramleh:
