A death certificate would have been issued. When you say that you've
searched 1837 online.com <http://online.com>;, have you searched the army war
deaths as opposed to the 'normal' registers, and if so, what was the
stumbling block - that you couldn't find a name match at all, or were there
too many to choose between? You also need to check for any
mis-transcriptions in the index.
