Subject: Where was George Wounded
Date: Tue, 19 Apr 2005 09:24:25 +1000 (AUS Eastern Standard Time)
Hi to All,
My Grandfather was wounded during WW1 in France. I have his army records and
am unable to find out where the battle was. So am hoping that some one maybe
able to help me.
His name was George Frederick Jackson, he was in the 15th Light Trench
Mortar Battery {late 60th Batt} I can make out on the records that 2/10/1918
he was admitted to Queen Marys Hospital Whalley, Lancashire with G.S.W F
Arm {I am assuming that is Gun shot wound Forearm }under neath that entry it
reads Private wounded in action 29/9/1918 France. In the column "Place of
Casualty " the word looks to be Hauve.
Hope you all can make sense of this
Regards
