Hello List

Can anyone please provide an interpretation of the following abbreviation found on a Medal Roll Index card for a soldier who was killed in action during the war. He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal and the following is written against the entry for them on the card.:

) - Returned (1743 K.R.) 7998/adt.

I am aware that KR is Kings Regulations but what was no 1743.
